Team & Interpersonal Dynamics
The hardest part of building
is building with people.
Strategy and structure only go so far. What makes or breaks teams — what makes or breaks companies — is what happens in the room. How people speak and don’t speak. What’s named and what stays underground. I help teams surface what’s most alive and move forward together.
The Stanford thread
Interpersonal Dynamics.
The course they call “Touchy Feely.”
I facilitate T-Groups at Stanford Graduate School of Business — one of the most respected and distinctive courses in any MBA program. The work is simple and demanding: be present with other people. Notice what happens. Say what’s true. The skills it builds — emotional honesty, repair, influence without authority — are the ones that determine whether a team coheres or fractures.
I bring this same approach to organizations and leadership teams outside the GSB.
What this looks like
Formats
Team offsites
Half-day or full-day facilitated sessions — in a room or in the field — that deepen trust, surface stuck dynamics, and give teams a shared language for what’s real.
Leadership team work
Sustained engagement with founders and their reports. The work below the organizational chart that determines what’s possible above it.
Days in nature
Facilitated experiences in the hills and redwoods near San Francisco. The land changes what’s possible in a room.
T-Group facilitation
For teams ready to go deep — structured interpersonal dynamics work modeled on the Stanford approach.
